BellyWho?
Belly became my nickname in high school for obvious reasons. I am Fat. I admit it. (Its a shame too because I have spent sooo much money on beer over the years keeping my robust shape). The whole website thing began back in 1996 when I purchased belly.com from a domain squatter for $600. At the time that was a ton of money for a struggling family man. I was using Hot Dog and Hot Metal Pro for web editing tools because I knew absolutely nothing about a webpage.
About a year later, i bought Belly.net for $500, and kept it redirected to Belly.com, which started out as a website for my company, Belly Productions. This was a set construction company I was starting with these two losers named Franz and Brad. The company never made it because Franz coudn’t stay off Heroin and Brad (who is simply an idiot) brought his fat wife in who tried to take over. To make a long story short, we parted ways, Brad and fatty got divorced, and she was trying to hook up with John the printer guy next door! He wouldn’t even do it though, claiming she was simply too fat! (Do I sound Bitter?)
After that belly.com just became belly’s home page, it was pretty lame actually, but there nonetheless. It wasn’t until I started working with Steve Reece that the concept for the real Belly.com came out. We began making short movies about this character named Belly who finds himself in situations, and all he cares about is beer. We continued making these for about 4 years. We haven’t made one in quite awhile, so expect a reunion of the cast soon.
In November of 2007, I was offered an amount of money I couldn’t refuse for the domain belly.com. I reluctantly accepted and watch my beloved domain enter the world of pay-per-click marketing. I have moved forward, again with the help of my great friend Steve Reece, to web 2.0 with the creation of this blog. Please subscribe to my blog and enjoy the material I am sharing. Thank you for your continued support.
Get ya a cold beer!!!
